Your affiliate program’s tracking gap - also referred to as the "cookie window" - refers to the amount of time that you're allowing an Affiliate to convert a customer on your website after that customer clicked the Affiliate’s tracking link. Your tracking gap is program-wide, meaning it will be effective for all of the approved Affiliates in your program.
You can view/edit your affiliate program's tracking gap by going to the Account Details page. Your program's tracking gap will be displayed in the top right corner of this page. You can adjust your program's tracking gap at any time by simply clicking 'Edit' and selecting a new tracking gap duration from the provided drop-down menu.
So, for example, if your affiliate program is set up with a 30-day tracking gap, this means that an Affiliate has 30 days for a customer to convert on your website after they’ve clicked the Affiliate’s tracking link. If an Affiliate generates a click from a customer, and that customer converts within 30 days from that initial click, the Affiliate will be credited with the transaction and earn the appropriate commission. On the other hand, if the customer decides to make a purchase on the 31st day, the Affiliate will not be credited since the conversion occurred outside of your program’s tracking gap. Therefore, the tracking cookie that was initially placed in the customer’s browser would have expired.
