When a transaction tracks in your Merchant account you have the ability to void or edit the transaction, if necessary.
If you'd like both the full commission amount and the ShareASale Transaction Fee associated with the transaction to be returned to your account balance, you’ll need to void the transaction entirely. This will be the best course of action in the event that an entire order is returned/canceled by the customer on your end. You can void a transaction by following these steps:
Go to the Transaction Detail Report
Click the ‘Void' button to the right of the applicable transaction
Select a void reason from the provided drop-down menu (choose the most appropriate reason)
Click ‘Void Transaction'
Once you’ve successfully voided the transaction it should say “VOIDED” under the sale amount:
You can also edit a transaction if you'd like to adjust the commission amount and/or sale amount associated with the transaction. This will be the best course of action in the event that the customer makes a partial return on your end. You can edit a transaction by following these steps:
Go to the Transaction Detail Report
Click the 'Edit' button to the right of the applicable transaction (to the left of the 'Void' button)
Select a ‘Percentage’ or ‘Flat’ commission
Edit the Sale Amount (optional). If ‘Flat Rate’ is selected, the new Sale Amount will be displayed as $0.00
Enter a commission percentage or flat commission rate
Edit the comment (optional)
Click ‘Update Transaction’
